HubPages.com- Building a Community on HubPages

http//www.HubPages.com has a very interesting approach to content creation and publishing to the web.

'Hubbers' are authors who create the content. You as a new hubber, create a new Hub, to be published within the HubPages.com site. Your first task is to create a name and category for your HubPage. For example 'cats' or 'guitars', the latter being my personal favorite!

The content for your HubPage is an article or story which you create by entering text, images and links into individual 'modules' named not surprisingly, 'text', 'images' and 'links', and when published, HubPages parses your text and images in a predetermined layout with relevant advertising being placed around your article.

Modification to the order your modules appear down the page is easily done by using the 'drag and drop' frame, where each module named text, image, links, etc can be 're-stacked' in vertical order in the frame, as it will appear as read down the published HubPage.

A very efficient and intuitive way to quickly publish your 'Hub'. My experience has shown that I can publish a HubPage in about one-half hour, and although I am a rapid typist, I edit for clarity and spelling as I type. This insures I catch any typos or misspellings prior to publishing.

Another key to the HubPage concept is comments. This is an area at the bottom of a HubPage where you can critique or comment on the premise or facts cited by the HubPage author. I have found that this leads to some striking and thought provoking dialogue, which will only enhance your HubPage's reach and visibility.

Here is a link to an example of one of my HubPage's eliciting some spirited responses to the question:

Read the article, and then scroll-down the page to see the comments from other Hubbers.

Even if you publish accidently, you can still edit your HubPage, after the fact, in case you mistakenly misquoted another Hubber or individual, and or want to correct or delete the misquotation.
